1048 - Beaver Creek Walking Trail

Montana is without question a hiker’s paradise. Between the rugged mountains of the west and the badlands in the east, there is definitely a landscape that suits your fancy. If remote and expansive landscapes are what your heart desires, the trails in and around Fort Peck Lake will bring a breath-taking view to your hike.
The Beaver Creek Nature Trail can be found downstream from the Fort Peck Dam from either the Interpretive Center or Kiwanis Park. The paved trail winds around the Downstream Campground through wildlife habitat along the vicinity of the Missouri River and the surrounding wooded area. Home to white-tail deer, waterfowl, raccoons and muskrats, it is a popular birding and wildlife viewing spot. Be prepared to discover the magic of the trail as it traverses wetlands, prairie sage and riparian zones along the Missouri River, which make it ideal to find those bird species on your life-list.
When fall comes around, the nature trail becomes extra special with yellow and sepia leaves dancing their way towards the ground, blanketing the earth in a quilt of fall colors. Regardless of when you visit, the Beaver Creek Nature Trail is sure to please!
