Winters on the plains of North Dakota are notoriously long and harsh. Sub-zero temperatures, towering snowdrifts, and slick sheets of ice often keep folks indoors for months on end. It’s a season that can feel isolating and limiting. But in Beulah, the Energy Wellness Center offers a bright exception—a warm, welcoming space that remains active and inviting no matter the weather.
While the wellness center was built in 2018, the process was initiated years prior. After several planning stages, the 6.5 million dollar project was fast-tracked in 2014 when Beulah residents approved a dedicated half-cent sales tax, proving that the small community was behind the center.
Today, the Energy Wellness Center features a gym, walking track, cardio equipment, weight room, a community room with a kitchen that can host a variety of community events and meetings, racquetball courts, not to mention a golf simulator and basketball/pickleball court! The state-of-the-art facility has become a gathering place and enables the community to become healthier in all aspects of life. With the ability to provide year-round recreation for the citizens of Mercer County, the Energy Wellness Center is a vital addition and helps both the young and the young at heart be healthy and engaged. Whether you are itching to swing your racquet or golf club, pump some iron, or take a leisurely stroll around the track, there’s something for everyone at the Energy Wellness Center.
