Families, history buffs, and genealogy enthusiasts looking for a relaxing afternoon of fun and entertainment can find just what they need at the museum.

Established in 1979, the museum now encompasses five 50 by 60 foot rooms. Viewers will take a walk through history as they tour an old fashioned front parlor, an early day dental office, a one-room schoolhouse, an old time mercantile store, and many other areas.

Family roots come alive in the numerous displays of rodeo days, wedding apparel, and military memorabilia beginning with the Spanish American War to the present conflicts.

Other displays include Native American Indian artifacts, toys, area sports memorabilia, wooden wagons, steam tractors, antique cars, homestead items, and much, much more.

What a better place to take a walk through history than a visit to the Mercer County Museum. A tour through this facility takes visitors through the early settlement days when the Norwegian, Swedish, Irish, and Germans from Russia immigrants began settling in the area in the 1870’s.

The Mercer County Museum is a trip through history everyone will enjoy! Come join the fun by participating in a scavenger hunt. Come visit the heritage of Mercer County! Open Memorial Day through Labor Day every Wednesday from 10am to 4pm and Sundays from 1 to 4. We look forward to seeing you!
