This sculpture, titled Scion, consists of several bold fearless figures representing the incredible tenacity of those surviving life on the Plains—especially during frontier days. You will notice all the figures are partially united, to represent the common support and connectedness that makes a strong community. The figures form an overall winged appearance to illustrate our flight through the passing of time. This particular sculpture took it’s own time to arrive before you today—it was carved from a 100 year old Cottonwood tree!
