The Mascot of Northeastern Junior College, Plainsmen Pete, was commissioned by Northeastern Junior College and the associated student government in 1986! The carving marked NJC’s 45th year as an outstanding education institution. This piece was sculpted entirely outdoors. None of Bradford’s sculptures were ever vandalized, except for Plainsmen Pete. Someone shot a high-powered bow in arrow into his chest, but don’t worry, Bradford was able to dig it out and restore it back to all it’s glory. Go Plainsmen!
