360 - Frontier Gateway Museum

Welcome to the Frontier Gateway Museum! Take a step back in time, and explore a variety of entertaining and educational exhibits spanning from prehistoric to modern day. Get the chance to uncover the rich railroad history of the Northern Pacific Railway, with a caboose and other railroad memorabilia found throughout the museum.
Keep an eye out for the World War 1 cannon, or an original log cabin moved to the museum grounds. A rural schoolhouse can also be found on the grounds, and is complete with authentic furnishings. Other buildings include: two country stores, a buggy shop, and a blacksmith shop. A machinery storage area houses an assortment of farm equipment and a restored windmill sits in the middle of the grounds, where you can learn its history.
Check out the 1916 American LaFrance fire engine, and a 1930’s fire engine and ladder truck in the fire hall.
Our main hall features a paleontology exhibit which was donated to the museum by the former Makoshika Dinosaur museum. The exhibit qualifies the Frontier Gateway Museum as one of Glendive’s two stops along the Montana Dinosaur Trail!
So come on in, go back in time, and get lost in the rich history. We’re proud of our museum, and we’re glad you made the trip…
