You have arrived at “Teddy Rides Again,” a 51 foot sculpture of the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, who said of North Dakota, “It was here that the romance of my life began.” His silhouette is made of bent oil well pipe, and he rides a rearing horse off into the horizon. When designer and builder Gary Greff began re-welding this sculpture on site, a small fire started, causing quite a bit of excitement. Thankfully, it was quickly diffused. A wooden stagecoach pulled by four horses is set at the base of the sculpture, built by a group of volunteer carpenters who wanted to contribute to the Enchanted Highway project. Take a seat inside of it and imagine travelling across the state of North Dakota by stagecoach instead of by car--it wasn’t that long ago afterall! And have you ever explored the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the rugged wild west terrain? Venture further west to be greeted by herds of massive buffalo, fields of prairie dogs, and the famous Medora Musical!
