Al Pietsch flew this Starduster two in air shows all over the world, flying over open water in a homemade airplane with no electrical system as far as Bermuda, which was six hours away. He also performed for the Navy. When Al flew, he kept a portable GPS and AA batteries in his pocket. He and his friends built the plane together in 1967. Between 1968 and 1995, he logged over 7,000 hours in the Starduster, flying over North America and the Caribbean. Al Pietsch Talk about a legend.
