Al Pietsch flew this Starduster two in air shows all over the world, flying over open water in a homemade airplane with no electrical system as far as Bermuda, which was six hours away. He also performed for the Navy. When Al flew, he kept a portable GPS and AA batteries in his pocket. He and his friends built the plane together in 1967.
