637 - Art Alley Welcome

This public art project, now known as Bismarck's Art Alley, or Alley 5.5, was created through a partnership between the Dakota west arts Council, a 2016 leadership Bismarck Mandan Project team, and the community of Bismarck. The purpose was to foster ongoing efforts to create public art in North Dakota's capital city, therefore creating a sense of place and building a stronger, more connected community.
The theme for the artwork in the alley is Reflections of North Dakota, which we hope is evident in the designs you see on the walls. Over 20 local artists not only participated, but were paid for their efforts as part of this project. A list of financial sponsors can be found towards the middle of the alley, and we can't thank them enough for their support. On behalf of the leadership group that put this project together, the Dakota West Arts Council and the City of Bismarck, we hope you enjoy your time in the alley.
